Europe raids target 'more than 100' mafia suspects

Massive police raids launched Wednesday across several European countries targeted "more than 100 suspected members" of the Italian 'Ndrangheta mafia, Belgian prosecutors said.

The Belgian prosecutor's office said around 20 raids took place in Belgium as part of the "wide-scale" operation triggered by an investigation opened by Belgian authorities in coordination with European agencies.

As well as Belgium, raids took place in France, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain.
